What is Post-Tensioning?

Post-tensioning is a prestressing method applied after concrete is poured. High-strength steel cables (1,860 MPa) are tensioned using hydraulic jacks, then locked with anchors. This technique creates permanent compression at the heart of the structure, neutralising tensile forces and enabling thinner, stronger slabs.

  1. Design & Engineering

Precise calculation of cable profiles and prestressing forces based on your structure's geometry.

  2. Duct Installation

Installation of ducts (HDPE or steel) and anchor plates before concrete pouring.

  3. Pouring & Curing

Placement of high-performance concrete (fc≥25MPa) with rigorous curing monitoring to ensure optimal strength.

  4. Stressing

Application of 150 to 200 kN force per cable using hydraulic jacks to compress the structure.

  5. Anchoring & Protection

Final locking of cables and cement grout injection for durable corrosion protection.

The sheathed cables are laid in the formwork, still slack, then the concrete is poured around them.
